Expansion vs Restriction

Yep  this is late. That’s how it goes. Here’s an excerpt from Jason Miller’s Magick Monday Newsletter. Dig if you will:

There is no meaningful expansion without restriction, and no beneficial conservation that does not enable new expressions.

If you are planning to blow the roof off 2021 by 10X-ing your life, look for the parameters to channel that growth in a meaningful way. What needs to be scaled back or eliminated to make room for all that Jupiterian Mojo spilling into your life?

If you are planning to buckle down and get serious about shit in 2021, look for the ways that makes you more free and capable. Whatcha gonna do with all that time, and money, and energy, and health that you free up?

Sometimes people can only see “BIGGER, BETTER, MORE!” even when their life is being devoured by aimless hustle.

Sometimes people can only see “DISCIPLINE, RESTRICT, REDISTRIBUTE!” even when they are already cutting bone.

If you are broke, the answer is not to cut back on your avocado toast. Its to make more fucking money. If you are making a bundle, but empty inside, the answer is to use what you have better, not make more.

If you are alone the answer is to find new people, not learn to bare loneliness. If you are loved, the answer is to love better and deeper and more profoundly, not to just keep flitting to more and more people

So as we pass through this Magnificent Monday, I suspect Tuesday will look more or less similar to today. That doesn’t mean that the end of the 20’s won’t look radically different from their beginning. I think people over-estimate the importance of a day sometime. Bill Gates said people overestimate what they can do in a year – but radically underestimate what they can accomplish in 10. I think that this is as good a time as any to start thinking 10 years ahead: what needs to expand and what needs to retract.
