The Guardian posted a 9 minute long mini documentary on Leonora Carrington, noted Surrealist painter. Besides living a storied life in the art world she was also, reputedly a powerful mystic/magician and initatrix to Alejandro Jodorowsky (according to his autobiography).
There are many individuals, including artists that make use of occult imagery without being actual practitioners but when questioned by our OHO as to the seriousness of many surrealists’ magical work, EGC Bishop Harry Smith replied, “It was big business — but nobody talked about it.” This blog previously posted regarding Carrington, Wassily Kandinsky and Salvador Dali regarding their occult connections.
