The Telegraph reported on Monday that a excavators discovered a marble head, probably belonging to a statue of Dionysos, near the remains of the ancient Roman Forum. A quote from the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum reads: “The face is refined and gracious, young and feminine. All of which makes us think this could be a depiction of Dionysos.” The head dates between the 1st century BC and the 2nd century AD.
