2016 Hoodoo Heritage Festival May 14th and 15th

Missionary Independent Spiritual Church has announced the 9th annual 2016 Hoodoo Heritage Festival running on Saturday and Sunday, May 14th and 15th, 2016 in Forestville, California. The event will include a number of  Hands-On Conjure Training Workshops:

Dem Dry Bones: Working with Osteocentric and Necromantic Curios: Bones have been used in sacred and magical work in every culture and every age. In this workshop by KAST EXCELSIOR, you will explore the various ways to incorporate bones as active allies to enhance your own conjure work. Each student will participate in the consecration of a personally fixed bone to draw increased luck and empowerment upon your path.

Amulets and Talismans: The Art of Consecrated Curios: Many people carry lucky charms or wear protective talismans to bring in good fortune and keep evil at bay — but to get the most out of them, you’ve got to know how! In this power-packed workshop, MS. ROBIN will help you select, prepare, and bless your own amulets. Each participant will receive 9 talismanic charms in a gift bag, designed to cover a wide variety of life situations such as luck, love, money, health, and power — and then, under the helping hands of a true hoodoo mentor, will fix and prepare them for use.

So, you can join presenters Charles Porterfield, catherine yronwode, Deacon Millett, Candelo Kimbisa, Papa Michael, and other special guests for classes, hands-on workshops, and panel discussions in African-American folk magic, rootwork, and hoodoo. These classes will teach practical tricks and tips to take one’sconjure work to a new level of confidence and knowledge. In addition to spell-casting, we also showcase the mystery and magic of worldwide folk religions.
