Wine for the Weekend: 2009 Perrin & Fils Côtes-du-Rhône Villages ($15)

2009 Perrin & Fils Côtes-du-Rhône Villages ($15)

Ixel Balamke’s Wine Notes

Color – Dark purple

Aroma – Black Fruits with Anise

Initial Taste – Full body wine.  Black Cherries, currants, plums, and blackberries.

Finish – Elegant tannins with a long finish Rich black fruits and hints of Herbs of Provencal and white pepper.

A lovely wine at a steal of a price of $15.  This wine is a blend of Rhone varietals.   Would pair good with lamb, steak, portabella mushrooms, Adelost cheese, Limburger cheese and any type of blue cheese.
