Aleister Crowley and Oscar Eckenstein climbed Mexico’s Popocatépetl volcano (then, inactive) on April 17, 1901 (see Richard Kaczynski’s Crowley biography Perdurabo, p. 90). 115 years + 1 day later it erupted with spectacular shower of smoke, ash and lava flows.
