LendEdu, a consumer finance comparison site, asked over 3,800 young people ages 18 to 22 if they used Tinder — 72% of them said they did. When asked why, more than 44% of the users said they were swiping for “confidence-boosting procrastination,” while 22% were looking for a hook up, and only 4% were looking for a relationship.
Tinder says its research found 80% of the site’s users are seeking a meaningful relationship, though this is from all age ranges.
