The Dawn of Civilisation – the 2nd Great Error?

Part of a Thelemite’s pursuit of the discovery of their True Will and then subsquently devoting their lives to living it out, is to eliminate the distraction of myriad conditioned prejudices and preconceived notions of how their environment is functioning and how they ought to respond to it that are acquired by being born and raised in a specific society – which itself has developed over aeons from the very beginning of civilization per se. So one might consider it a reasonable first step to understand what civilization is, how it first arose and why and the part it plays in forming our conception of manifest reality and our proper place in it.

Earlier this Fall, the New Yorker presented a thoughtful piece considering the beginning of civilization and  diffidently posing the question — was it necessarily a good thing?
