Persistence of Cultural Perspectives in the Middle East

Looking at the recent article, “Who is Khorasan?” in Time Magazine, dated 10/20/14 it is interesting noting how many of the details as to geographic base, the circumstances within which the group operates and perhaps responds to echoes that of the fabled Assassins
Perhaps an interesting incidence of how particular cultural perspectives persists over centuries, even a millenium.  Here’s a second piece on the group:
