Museum Orsay Celebrates 150th Birthday of Erik Satie With Concert Series

February 2- March 29,  2016 the Orsay Museum of Paris, France will celebrate the  150th birthday of Erik Satie, with a concert series that will including his Rosicrucian music. The Museum’s site states:

“Everyone will tell you That I am not a musician. It’s true.” This quote taken from Memoirs of an Amnesiac (1912) Underlines the non-conformist side of Satie and the implacable sense of derision That can be seen in all de son works.For the 150th anniversary de son birth, the auditorium is Offering visitors a scarce opportunity to hear all de son music for solo piano in six concerts, beyond the famous parts Such As the Gymnopédies and theGnossiennes. Long-standing advocates of Satie’s work Will take it in turns to step up to the keyboard, Such As Anne Queffélec and Pascal Rogé, as well as artists of the younger generation, like David Kadouch and Gaspard Dehaene. We Will aussi discover Satie, the master of words, through a striking and original performance by Agathe Mélinand based texts are written by Satie himself.
