For our third live Magickal Women Conference we’re returning to our roots to focus on the history, practice, and art of women and trans women in the occult, past and present. Early Bird tickets are on sale now for what promises to be another wonderful event celebrating the women in and of occulture. Our Call for Papers will open on 1 May 2023. We welcome men, trans men, women, trans women, and those who identify as nonbinary, agender, bigender, cisgender, genderfluid, genderqueer, etc. We can all recognise the contributions of women and transwomen that have been erased from our stories, and our shared past.
We are delighted to announce that our 2024 conference will be held at The Birmingham & Midland Institute in the heart of Birmingham city. We have booked the entire Grade II* listed building for our day of magick and mischief, which includes a 250-seat theatre, workshop rooms, lecture rooms, a vendor room, a lunch room, a café, and a break-away room for those who need a moment of quiet. The Magickal Women Conference is a celebration of women and transwomen in all streams of magic, past and present. It provides an opportunity to explore the female perspective on the occult, esotericism, witchcraft, and magic, or to examine the women who have contributed to their study and practice. We invite speaker proposals that address themes within the following strands: History, Creative Arts, Practice. Academics, independent researchers, practitioners, artists — all are welcome.
