Here’s a news story about a sexual abuse scandal in China involving the president of the Chinese Buddhist Association. This is interesting because… with the U.S. media fixated on reporting on the most outrage-provoking Ameri-centric matters down to the last Tweet, many of us are blithely unaware of what’s going on in the rest of the world. I doubt many of us spend much time contemplating the state of the Chinese government’s relationship with Buddhism, most especially the Buddhism it actively supports.
