Ancient Indians portrayed shamans and their spiritual journeys on the rocks

Julita Rękawek examined more than 400 anthropomorphic rock drawings of from 60 archaeological sites from the archaic period located in deep ravines in the region of San Rafael (Utah) in the U.S. Her analysis showed that drawings had been made thousands of years ago in connection with shamanistic practices associated with the phenomenon of vision exploration.
