An H.P. Lovecraft Primer

Yesterday we posted about Lovecraft Country, a new HBO series that layers the ongoing dread that Black Americans live with — the likely prospect of being capture and executed in broad daylight by white cops or self-proclaimed vigilantes while engaged in the most innocuous of activities like jogging, buying a pack of smokes at a convenience store — and the ambient fear horror movies situate their characters in; we linked to NYT coverage of the series.  The paper also ran a sidebar on H.P. Lovecraft himself.  This is probably more what y’all are interested in reading than social consciousness — so enjoy!
