Alan Cabal on Drug Use in the Occult in the ’80’s

Here’s an interesting piece by the infamous Alan Cabal, a prominent member of the NYC occult scene throughout the ’80s, and familiar with OTO members during that period. In this essay he offers his observations of what he experienced as per sex, drugs and rockin’ roles in occult circles in the ’80s and OTO members were one the scene in those days, mixing with the Wiccan scene that revolved around Herman Slater’s Warlock Shop and later his Magickal Childe store.

We make no claims for his accuracy…nor his inaccuracy. You’ll need to do your own research to evaluate further. But this does resonate somewhat with some activity described in “In The Center of The Fire.” At worst it transmits some of the flavor of those heady, sometimes harrowing times — seen from his particular perspective, and now filtered through his experiences these past 35 years.
