With all the hype over Fifty Shades of Grey and its sequels, many in the public are under the impression that BDSM involves a complete surrender of agency on the part of a bottom/submissive. Many in the mainstream do not realize that BDSM doesn’t always involve sex, that Professional Dom(me)s are not prostitutes, and that nobody has to jump into the world of kink without a net. With rare exception, movies and novels are fantasy material, and shouldn’t be used as reference texts.
There’s a whole community out there with knowledge and experience about playing safely. “Man has the right to love as he will.”
