“There is less than 2 weeks before the start of the next cycle of Sorcery of Hekate. For those who haven’t decided yet whether this kind of training is a good fit for them, this short invocation and chant might help give you a sign one way or the other. To be clear: you don’t need a sign. As I said in the latest episode of Witches and Wine, your own interest and agency is sign enough. But if you are seeking clarity – this rite may give you some.
“The rite is simple enough. If you can set up an altar with a Picture of Hekate, either from antiquity or one of the ones attached to a post for the course, and set a candle on each side of it, that is best. If not you can visualize her before you in the six armed form shown in this post.

“Repeat the following mantra as many times as possible. 100 times minimum. 1000 times is preferable when seeking a sign.

“When you feel that the presence of Hekate has been evoked and stabilized into your sphere through the call and the mantra, you can move on to the offerings.
“Your offering for this rite can be as simple as rubbing your hands together and offering the heat. If you want to do more, you can offer wine poured in the ground and that will rise to the sky. If you want to do still more you can offer an egg, covered in honey, surrounded by dandelions. After the rite you can leave it at a three way or four way crossroads.

“You may receive a sign during the chanting. The first time I ever did this chant I heard her laughter over it, thus the name of the rite. You may receive a sign during the offering – especially if you make the trip to leave it at a crossroads. More commonly you may receive a sign after the rite: sometimes an omen, sometimes a dream, sometimes something more. You can also perform a divination immediately after completing the chanting, but before the offering and close. Whatever your preferred method is fine.
“If signs are not clear, you can perform the rite three times on three consecutive nights. Do not skip nights in between.
“If you decide to join the course, you will learn many secrets behind these words. If you decide not to join, please keep the rite and use it whenever you like. You can change the request for a sign to a request for action or knowledge of any kind.
