OH MY YES! Weiser Antiquarian Bookseller has released a new catalogue of Crowleyana. I hope you’ve been saving up your pennies!
The works on offer would include:
“NP (England): (Privately Printed: the author), ND (Circa 1970s). First Edition.Softcover. Quarto. Not paginated (23 leaves, printed on the rectos only) Text comprises stencil-duplicated sheets reproduced from a typescript, stapled into black lettered white card covers, b&w illustrations. Amado writes in question and answer format, indicating in his Introduction that the questions are those that have been asked of him “many times” by students. Subject headings are: Neophyte and Master; Spiritual Process; Life of a Magus; Practices and Rituals; Advancement; and Occult Orders. Amado [Andrew Standish, 1930-2010], claimed to have been the illegitimate son of Aleister Crowley, and to have received occult training from the Beast, although these claims are universally dismissed by Crowley scholars. Regardless of the veracity of his claims he was an interesting character and committed occultist whose work was well known in British occult circles. From the collection of English bibliophile and Aleister Crowley scholar Nicholas Bishop-Culpeper, with his book-label loosely inserted. Very crude 1970s production values with just some light rubbing and marks to covers, edges darkened, text clean. Overall a tight, unmarked VG copy. Unusual. Item #62475″
With my budget these days I’m having a hard time keep up with the Keep Silence editions of the first Volume of The Equinox – and these are sweet AND priced to move!
