Tomorrow, June 7, is the Feast of Saint Carl Kellner. Described as “The Spiritual Father of Ordo Templi Orientis,” Kellner was an Austrian paper chemist, a student of the esoteric, and a world traveler. He sought, with Theodor Reuss, to form an Academia Masonica which would enable all Freemasons to become familiar with all existing Masonic degrees and systems, to be called the “Oriental Templar Order.”
In honor of Kellner’s birthplace, enjoy this traditional Austrian dessert recipe: Kaiserschmarrn.
