Drugs, Visions, and Esoterica in the Seventies

Noted occultural commentator Erik Davis reports that work on his latest book is in its final stages. Sez he:

“I am happy to report that High Weirdness: Drugs, Visions, and Esoterica in the Seventies is with the publisher, or I should say publishers. I am producing the book with my good friend Mark Pilkington and his wonderfully weird Strange Attractor Press, who are responsible for beautiful studies of “unpopular culture.” Strange Attractor also happen to exist within the fold ofMIT Press, who is handling the publicity, distribution, and academic rigamarole for my book. For an errant PhD like me, it is a match made in heaven.

“Currently Mark and I are gathering images for the book, which has put me in touch with some interesting characters, like Tessa DickJohn Thompson—the illustrator for Robert Anton Wilson’s Cosmic Trigger—and members of Terence and Dennis McKenna’s fabled La Chorrera crew. It’s going to look great.”
