Yet in some cultures there is a decisive bias among parents for producing female offspring. The BBC reports that in India this bias has led the government to pass laws against testing for sex during pregnancy, but they take place illegally, often leading to abortion of female foetuses at worst. And at best? Newspapers publish tips for bettering chances of conceiving boys rather than girls including things like facing West while sleeping and eating a lot. OY!
