One of the symbols of peaceful co-existence of the Abrahamic religions was the conversion of the Greek Orthdox cathedral, the Hagia Sophia (Holy Wisdom), in Istanbul, to a museum nearly a hundred years ago after being used as a mosque since shortly after the fall of Constantinople. Now the leader of Turkey has designated it a mosque again and the first Muslim services were held there earlier today. Here’s NPR’s report:
