It’s true — too many people assume that sex play without penetration isn’t really sex. From Bill Clinton’s “I did not have sexual relations with that woman,” to Catholic League president Bill Donohue claiming it’s not rape if the child isn’t penetrated, it’s an unfortunate and misleading approach to sex and sexuality. It not only enables harmful prevarication, but also is a disservice to myriad lovers, “including cisgender women in queer relationships and trans or non-binary people who feel gender dysphoria around their genitals — but even straight, cisgender people could benefit from giving the penis a break.” Certainly sex magicians aren’t all cisgendered and heterosexual!
