Greetings All! After much deliberation, we have decided to move ahead with The Salem Witchcraft and Folklore Festival 2021 as an ONLINE EVENT only this year. Though it pains us to have to move this event to a digital platform for the second year, it allows us the opportunity to keep folks safe and healthy as well as provide some excellent content to people throughout the world who are interested in what the Salem Witchcraft & Folklore Festival has to offer.
We are working with our teachers and presenters to bring you a fantastically curated line up of classes, events, and workshops that you will be able to attend from the comfort of your own home! Online registration will be available beginning April 1st for :
-
Day Passes (access to all of our live stream classes on the day of your choice as well as access to the class recordings for that day)
-
General Admission Passes (access to ALL of our live class offerings throughout the weekend and access to all of the class recordings).
Unable to watch our classes live? Don’t worry, we will have recordings available for you the week after the festival for you to enjoy at your leisure.
With the switch to a virtual event we will unfortunately be postponing our special events (The Welcome Dinner, Diviner’s Lounge, Film Screening & Panel Discussion, Antilux: An Evening of Ritual Performance, The Black Cat Cabaret, and the Occultists Pub Crawl) until 2022. We are Working on curating an online event for the Mercato Delle Strega Witches’ Market and will make further announcements in that regard within the coming month.
For more information or to register please email info@salemsummersymposium.com
This will be a week’s worth of magical ritual, workshops, and social gatherings held throughout the city of Salem, all of which will culminate in a community ritual, The Black Cat Cabaret Costume Party and the Mercato Delle Strega Witches Market.
The Salem Summer Symposium is a joint effort founded by The Cauldron Black
and Spiritus Arcanum
For example, Ms. Wardwell’s last name is a reference to the Wardwell family, Samuel, Sarah, and their daughter, Mercy. They were accused of witchcraft during the Trials and were eventually executed for their supposed crimes. Also, Putnam, the last name of Sabrina’s friend Theo, is a reference to the Putnam family, who played a key role in the Trials. Both Thomas Putnam and his daughter Ann were two of the Trials’ primary accusers and Thomas Putnam was one of its primary investigators.
