Sicilia Fan reports on recently announced results of research into the purpose of a curiously appointed room in a private home in Palermo Italy. Purchased by newlyweds some six years ago, the house was being restored methodically and when work began on a closed off room, walls covered with odd symbols and Arabic writings were discovered under hundreds of years worth of accumulated plastering and replastering. Originally, it was thought the room was used as a mosque but further research revealed that the text and symbols were for use in magickal ritual — something strictly prohibited when Palermo was under Islamic rule.

Very interesting, thank you for posting this. If you look closely at the photo, you can see that the doors and window shutters are new, painted to harmonize with the original decoration on the wall. Even parts of the walls have been newly painted, in areas around the magickal script.
