Black Letter Press is running a Kickstarter campaign to fund printing of a new translation of Hypnerotomachia Poliphili by Paul Summers Young. The posted explanation says:
“We are delighted to publish a new translation of one of our all-time favourite books. A book that inspired us to start Black Letter Press. We are offering several beautiful editions, as well as Kickstarter-exclusive rewards.
“With your help, we can build on the success of our first two campaigns, De Magia by Giordano Bruno and Dreams of Witches by Christina Oakley Harrington.
“It is our great pleasure to offer Hypnerotomachia Poliphili via Kickstarter. We aim to publish all the editions by the end of 2023.
“Enormously influential, yet stubbornly enigmatic, it is a jewel of historical literature and a rare entity in terms of its form, quality, and depth of content. This is for all those interested in typography and type design, for enthusiasts, design historians, collectors, and researchers.
