One of the most popular wines at the NOTOCON XI was the Barolo. Here’s a good Barolo at a reasonable price.
Cesare Pavese Barolo 2011
Color – vivid garnet
Aroma – red currants and black cherries
Initial taste – tight fruit high acidity (food wine & also very young, could age for 10 to 15 years easily) loads of spice
Finish – after finally opening up red currants with chunky minerals and notes of white pepper on end. Good med to long finish with very tight tannins. Too young for this one but still most excellent wine. You too can enjoy this wine for $50.
