This year Payal Kapadia of the Film and Television Institute of Indian presented her work dealing with issues of women and sexuality at Cannes, “Afternoon Clouds.” Her film was selected in the Cinefondation category, a space created to inspire and support the next generation of filmmakers.
The 13-minute film is about a middle-aged widow and her young housemaid negotiating their loneliness and love.
