This is an interesting take on the late Gene Wilder’s life. While the author seems to be pushing a definite click-baiting agenda I can buy into the amount of sadness he experienced in his youth and it does resonate with what — to me — was the magic of his performance. His comedy was not simple clowning, it seemed to extend from a foundation of hurt in whose face he was stoically trying to carry on – making the best of it he could. What was a surprise was his involvement in Theosophy – who’d thunk it still had enough of a presence in the U.S. during his teen years. Read on:
