The U.K.s Daily Mail reports that the civil authorities of Boca Raton, FL issued a permit to Preston Smith to set up an Averse Pentagram next to a Nativity. Next to it, the Freedom From Religion Foundation installed a banner readhing:
‘At this season of the Winter Solstice, we celebrate the Birth of the Unconquered Sun — the TRUE reason for the season.
‘As Americans, let us also honor the birth of our Bill of Rights, which reminds us there can be no freedom OF religion, without freedom FROM religion in government.’
A significant portion of the local citizenry was unsurprisingly displeased with the display and acted accordingly.
