Frater Ararita 418 is a long time friend of mine, and he’s one of the reasons I joined both the A.’.A.’. and the O.T.O. Within the community of grimoire-based magicians to which I belonged, the general opinion of Ceremonial Magicians was rather low. This was because most ceremonialists seemed to think the Great Work was a psychological exercise that allowed the manifestation of themselves in different guises, rather than acknowledging that spirits had their own existence, forms, and natural laws that were every bit as important as our own.
Ararita 418 was the exception to this rule. He worked through Merkavah, he worked with Elementals and the Spirits of the Lemegeton, he wrote conjuration rites, and more recently he’s been working on translation of some of the key texts most of the planetary systems of magick we work with are based on. He’s not only a magician, but a conjuror.
Whether the spirits exist only in our heads or not seldom comes up in our conversations, because regardless, the doing of Magick requires the conjuration of Spirits. In this series, our brother is working on getting more people to understand the fundamentals, so we can be more comfortable getting into the Magick Circle and conjuring the spirits that kick off the Great Work, and make our lives better as a result.
Check out his first post below, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
