The Jeff Bezos-owned Washington post recently reviewed a number of collections devoted to occult themed detective fiction dating from around the turn of the last century i.e. during Aleister Crowley’s heyday; two collections devoted to the work of individual writers and one anthology of multiple authors. Crowley himself tried his hand at the genre and indeed authored the Simon Iff stories. But he didn’t make the cut for the anthology or get his own compilation this time around though the Golden Dawn’s Dion Fortune is in the anthology discussed.
