Today, April 9, celebrates the writing of Chapter II of The Book of the Law. This chapter is written in the voice of Hadit, who tells us, “I am the flame that burns in every heart of man, and in the core of every star.” He also instructs, “I am the Snake that giveth Knowledge & Delight and bright glory, and stir the hearts of men with drunkenness. To worship me take wine and strange drugs whereof I will tell my prophet, & be drunk thereof!”
Keeping in mind that the Rights of Man are constrained somewhat by consequence and law, this blog will not include any recipes for illegal substances. While “thou hast no right but to do thy will,” it is wise to consider that one’s will may not include arrest and incarceration.
Also, now is a great time to consider purchasing The Thelemic Cookbook: Cooking with the Correspondences, by Lita-Luise Chappell. The book includes menus for just about any feast a Thelemite may wish to celebrate. This blog will include other recipes with correspondences that might meet one’s needs, but the cookbook is in fact a wonderful resource and highly recommended.
