By request from Br. M.P. in the O.T.O. Facebook Community, we bring you this experiment in sacramental dessert. It is not suitable for communion, but it would make a fine treat with a feast at one’s local O.T.O. body. If you like spice cake, you’ll probably like these.
- 2 cups all-purpose flour[1]
- 1 cup honey
- ½ cup olive oil
- 1 cup milk
- 3 ½ tsp baking powder[2]
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 eggs
- ½ tbs Oil of Abramelin
- 1 pinch ash[3]
Preheat oven to 350 °F.
Line 24 medium muffin cups with paper baking cups.
Beat together all ingredients on low speed, scraping the sides of the bowl with a spatula, about 30 seconds. Beat on high for about 3 minutes.
Pour batter into baking cups.
Bake until a wooden pick inserted in the center of a cupcake comes out clean, about 20 minutes.
Allow to cool before serving.
These could be great with cream cheese frosting!
[1] You may substitute another sort of flour if you like.
