Renowned mystic, poet, painter, printer et al William Blake – the namesake of William Blake Lodge, OTO in the Valley of Baltimore is being honored with a new exhibition at Yale University, “Illiminated Printing: William Blake and Book Art.” The exhitib opened in March and closes in late August. William Blake was recognized as a Gnostic Saint of Eccelsia Gnostic Catholica in Fall 1997 e.v. based on Crowley’s essay “William Blake,” which described him as such.
The Yale Daily News says that the exhibit “traces the influence of the English artist through the historical development of book art and illuminated prints — an art form that Blake is credited with inventing. The exhibit includes works by Blake and contemporary artists he influenced, acting as a companion to an upcoming exhibition at the Yale University Art Gallery, which will contain several of Blake’s works.
