Obtaining an understanding of the True Will–the guiding principle that directs our lives and gives them purpose–is a central goal in Aleister Crowley’s system of spiritual attainment known as Thelema. In this interactive workshop, Thelemic teacher Dr. David Shoemaker will review the nature and function of the True Will, and participants will have an opportunity to learn and practice specific tools to assist in the discovery of the True Will.
Following the workshop, there will also be an opportunity for purchase and signing of David’s latest book, Living Thelema. A limited number of copies of other works edited by David will also be available for sale.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Dr. David Shoemaker is a clinical psychologist in private practice, specialising in Jungian and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy. David is the Chancellor of the International College of Thelema, and the Prolocutor of its initiatory Order, the Temple of the Silver Star. He has been a member of O.T.O. and A∴A∴ since 1993, and he has many years of experience training students in these traditions.
He is Past Master of 418 Lodge, O.T.O. in Sacramento, California, having succeeded Soror Meral (Phyllis Seckler), his friend and teacher. He also serves as the Most Wise Sovereign of Alpha Chapter, and as a Sovereign Grand Inspector General of O.T.O. David was the founding President of the O.T.O. Psychology Guild, and is a frequent speaker at NOTOCON. He is also a member of the U.S. Grand Lodge Initiation Training, Clergy Training, and Planning committees, and he serves as an Advanced Initiator Trainer.
David’s popular “Living Thelema” podcasts have appeared regularly since early 2010, and his widely praised Living Thelema book was published in late 2013.
