Collection of Obscure 16-18th Century Grimoires

UK occult publisher Hadean Press are opening pre-orders for the hardcover version of Faustina Goetica. They posted on FB:

Pre-orders are now open for the hardcover edition of Faustiana Goetica: A Collection of Related Obscure Sixteenth-Eighteenth Century Germanic Grimoire Texts, translated from the German/Latin, edited with footnotes, appendixes, and new introduction by Steve Savedow and with a foreword by Alexander Cummins.

In Faustiana Goetica, Steve Savedow expands the corpus of important texts by bringing together obscure sixteenth-eighteenth century German grimoires, making them available together in English for the first time. The material includes Herpentil’s Black Magic, Epitome of Supernatural Magic, Magia Ordinis, Almuchabosa: Compendium of Supernatural Black Magic, Tuba Veneris, and Grimorium Mercurium.

The texts presented in this volume each provide a basic, ‘no nonsense’, uncomplicated system of spirit evocation or ‘Goetica’, that can be described and categorized as being in the nature of [Faustian] German talismanic ‘Black Books’ of magic. These books include specific material on using talismans and incantations to perform acts of spirit evocation, the acquisition of money or gold/treasure, skrying by the use of a glass of water, and some interesting techniques of necromancy including how to get news from the dead.

Including reference material from nineteenth century German magazines and books, dozens of illustrations, spirit list, comprehensive manuscript and published work details of the texts and much more, Faustiana Goetica is a treasure trove which reveals a significant area of development in the grimoire tradition.

Our hardcover edition will be printed on Munken cream paper, coverd in Wibalin graphite buckram, with satin gold foiling on front and spine, and printed endpapers.
