Here’s an interesting opinion piece that ran in the New York Times earlier this month making the case that the key voter base for the Republican Party is not the Religious Right, as popularly supposed, but secular “Middle American Radicals” (as they’ve been dubbed by sociologist Donald Warren. We’re certainly not taking on stance on this, but it’s development that’s fascinating to ponder whether you buy into it or nay.
