Insider.com reports that Canadian parents are circulating a petition to removed a high school principal for her Instagram posts about being an Iron Maiden fan – though the petition was eventually updated to say that the issue was “openly displaying her OWN handmade sign with the 666 clearly displayed on it” — not liking Iron Maiden. A counter-petition supporting the principal and her right to like any band she pleases.
Now while there’s no indication that any of the longtime members of Iron Maiden are Satanists they certainly have employed enough Satanic references in their album artwork and lyrics as the next band. Also Bruce Doyle’s film “Chemical Wedding” which sees Aleister Crowley possessing a previously meek university professor who’s been bombarded with mega-dose of Crowley-ana via high technology download, was based on a screenplay by Bruce Dickinson.
