Even among sex magicians, some people are asexual. While asexuality can be described as lack of sexual attraction or desire to have sex, every person is unique in themselves. Some folks are aromantic, and don’t want that kind of emotional intimacy, but that’s not necessarily true of asexual people. It’s best to allow individuals to determine their own identity descriptors.
Still, in a society that appears to revolve around sex, an asexual person may wish to seek intimacy and love. In Broadly, Soofiya tells Sirin Kale:
I feel romantically attracted to people, but it doesn’t mean that I want to have sex with them. Sometimes people expect that the right person will come along and I’ll think, Now I want to fuck you! But it’s not about finding the right person. It’s about something inherent inside of me.
