Last week, AtlasObscura.com posted an article on sex advice pioneer Mary Stropes. In her highly controversial 1918 book Married Love she put forth the shocking propositions that people should be given some basic information on the mechanics and technique of sexual intercourse and the still more shocking proposals that women should ENJOY IT! Read the article here:
Stropes was following in the footsteps of Ida Craddock (http://www.idacraddock.com/)who took her own life some 16 years earlier rather than be incarcerated long term following her conviction on obscenity charges over writing, publishing and circulating literature of a similar nature as well as writings on erotic mysticism (which were praised by Crowley himself)
thanks to Soror Hypatia for the tip!
