Egyptologist Invited To Defend Theory that Tut-Ankh-Amoun’sBuried in Nerferttiti’s Tomb

ABC News rerpots that British Egyptologist Nicholas Reeves has been invited to Cairo by the Egyptian Antiquities Ministry to defend his recently aired theory that the tomb of Tut-Ankh-Amoun occupies a small antechamber that’s part of larger tomb complex that was originally built for Queen Neferttiti, the wife of pharoah Akhen-aten, Tut-Ankh-Amoun (nee Tut-Ankh-Aten, the name change coming after his father’s death and his ascension to the throne and restoration of worship of the traditional Egyptian deities). Reeves theory, which has yet to undergo peer review has raised considerable circumstances in academic circles which could only be resolved by further examination of the tomb. He claims that examining high resolution photographs of the chamber reveals lines in the plasterwork which could indicate two filled in, plastered over doorways — which could lead to a larger funerary complex.
