After over a decade, Dana Scully and Fox Mulder are back, investigating a possible alien abduction. The six-episode miniseries will also bring back Mitch Pileggi as FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner, and William B. Davis as Cancer Man.

Creator Chris Carter hints that if ratings allow, he would like to do more, including another movie. When talking with The Hollywood Reporter, he also revealed, “We try to make an arc: bookend it with mythology episodes, and the four in the middle are standalone episodes. [But] there is what I would call an arc within those episodes. We tried to make everything integral. But the first episode and the last episode are really a two-parter. In [the other episodes] we follow the characters emotionally, but they don’t have to do with the conspiracy.”

Watch the trailer released at the Television Critics Association winter meeting.

If you want to bring yourself up to speed with prior episodes, Seasons 1 through 9 are available with a Hulu subscription.
