It is being reported through social media that noted occultist and writer Nema passed away early this morning.
The Wiki entry on her states:
“Nema is an occultist and writer best known for her magical writings about the Ma’atian current. She has been practising and writing about magick (magical working, as defined by Aleister Crowley) for over twenty-five years. From her experience with Thelemic magick (a system designed by Crowley), she developed her own system of magic called Maat Magick which has the aim of transforming the human race. Her writings have appeared in many publications, including the Cincinnati Journal of Ceremonial Magick, Aeon, Starfire, and others.
Black Moon Publishing describes her career in magick thusly:
“Nema encountered the works of Aleister Crowley in the early 1970s and became a member of Kenneth Grant’s Typhonian Order for several years. During the same time period, she practiced group rituals with other magickians in Cincinnati, Ohio, and became a member of Bate Cabal, publisher of the Cincinnati Journal of Ceremonial Magick.
“Nema is an experienced magickian and mystic, and the author of Maat Magick and The Way of Mystery (republished by Black Moon Publishing as Wings of Rapture).
