Rosaleen Norton Documentary in Post Production

The Witch of Kings Cross, the cinema length documentary from writer/director Sonia Bible about the life of radical artist Rosaleen Norton, is reported to currently be in post-production though no release date has been announced as yet. The project’s website states:

“Artist, witch, media whore… Rosaleen Norton shocked 1950’s Australia with her brazen sex life, occult beliefs and provocative art.

“In 1950’s Sydney, radical artist Rosaleen Norton hits the headlines with allegations of satanic rituals, unexplained murders and sex orgies. Eventually the relentless scandals lead to the downfall of her famous high society lover. Told “in her own words”, the film weaves stylized drama, dance, archive, interviews and showcases never before seen artworks and scrapbooks. The Witch of Kings Cross is the story of a fearless woman outlaw railing against fearful conservative forces.  In many ways, Rosaleen’s story offers haunting parallels to the modern world, where many hard-won freedoms are again being whittled away.”
