Persistence of Cultural Perspectives in the Middle East

Looking at the recent article, “Who is Khorasan?” in Time Magazine, dated 10/20/14 http://time.com/3483909/who-is-khorasan/ it is interesting noting how many of the details as to geographic base, the circumstances within which the group operates and perhaps responds to echoes that of the fabled Assassins http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassins.
Perhaps an interesting incidence of how particular cultural perspectives persists over centuries, even a millenium.  Here’s a second piece on the group: http://time.com/3430960/obama-isis-khorasan-terrorism/
