New Weiser Antiquarian Catalogue Released

Yes  – I realize that this blog is functioning like an advertising service today. SORRY! Getting ready for Samedi Gras! And besides, don’t front – you know you love looking at long lists of expensive olde books, dontcha chumpie? (I mean, I DO!) And here’s Catalogue 214: A Miscellany from Weiser Antiquarian. Their site says:

“As the title suggest the catalogue includes a small but interesting selection of publications “by” the notorious occult publisher Lauron William de Laurence. ”

and here’s a tasty one:

[ Astrology ] ADAMS, Evangeline. Astrology for Everyone: What it is and How it Works.

New York: New Home Library, 1942. Reprint. Hardcover. Octavo. xxii + 268pp. Blue cloth with darker blue lettering etc. A nice hardcover reprint of this basic explanation of what astrology is, and how it works – by the popular astrologer Evangeline Adams. Curiously it has recently been confirmed that two of her best known works – “Astrology, Your Place In The Sun” and “Astrology: Your Place Among The Stars” – were actually “ghost-written” by Aleister Crowley, although this popular guide was presumably her own work. Corners and spine ends lightly bumped and chafed, uneven darkening to endpapers, bright and unmarked. Overall a VG+ copy in Good dust jacket (Dust jacket is complete but well worn, chipped & chafed at all edges and extremities, inner flaps and rear panel darkened, clipped. Item #62167

  1. I notice a lot of De Laurence works. Tarl Warwick’s released quite a few of his works, rendered into Modern English, on his Amazon page for around $5 a piece, for those who want cheaper versions.

The “East & West” collection by T.L. Vaswini, AFAIK, refers to the English-language “Journal Of East And West” magazine published during the mid-20th century. Julius Evola’s contributions can be purchased here

    Anyhow, I ended up purchasing:
    > None Dare Call It Witchcraft
    > The Myth of the Eternal Return
    > The Illustrated Golden Bough, A Study in Magic and Religion

Good & timely link. Get in b4 other people, like me, buy everything up
