In US, Vyleesi Approved to Improve Women’s Sex Drive

Associated Press reports that American women can soon use an injected medication to raise their sexual interest for several hours. The Food and Drug Administration approved the drug Friday, June 21. AP notes that Vyleesi “…is only the second approved to increase sexual desire in women, a market drugmakers have been trying to cultivate since the blockbuster success of Viagra for men in the late 1990s. The other drug is a daily pill.”

Questions do arise, of course, including:

  1. Will this be helpful to sex magicians who find a decreased sex drive to be an impediment?
  2. Will the fact that the drug is an injection prevent patients who might otherwise use it?
  3. Why is women’s sex drive seen as a physiological problem rather than a psychological one?

What questions do you have about this new development?
