A Condiment for the Life of Henry John Heinz

173 years ago today, Henry John Heinz was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of German immigrants. He founded the H.J. Heinz company in his birth city, producing more than 60 products. Probably the best known Heinz products is tomato ketchup.

As a celebration of the Heinz birthday, here is a recipe that purports to be the same formula as that now manufactured by the Kraft Heinz Company. You’ll need tomato paste, white vinegar, granulated sugar, corn syrup, water, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
